Work Over & Snubbing Services
An increasing number of oil and gas companies are using snubbing & work over rigs as a routine procedure for P&A, well completions, remedial fishing operations, stimulation and frac operations and general work-overs. The main advantage is that the well does not need to be killed prior to commencement of operation and the snubbing & work over rig offers a safe and easy alternative. These are highly mobile and very easy to mobilize both offshore and onshore.
Some other advantages include:
- Eliminates the need for kill fluids
- Reduces formation damage
- Reduced foot print
- Saves time and money
- Environmental friendly
The innovations include:
- One piece lift directly onto the service rig's BOP (Blow Out Preventer) or Well Head flange.
- High mobility
- Unique short design that places BOP's inside the hydraulic cylinders making the rig assist unit highly compatible to all sizes of service, drilling rigs and coiled tubing units
- An annular control system that allows for the deployment of various OD tubing or down hole tools.
- Fast tripping time
- Can work on live wells.
Nordic / Red Adair's Snubbing & Work Over rigs (SWO) were developed by Nordic / Red Adair and designed to perform efficient work-over and drilling operations. Virtually any application undertaken by a conventional work-over rig, drilling rig or coiled tubing unit can be accomplished with the Nordic / Red Adair SWO Rig.
- Pull capacity: 340,000 lbs
- Push capacity: 150,000 lbs
- Tripping speed: 0.75 meter per sec
- Tripping speed: 1,400 ft per hour
- Drillpipe: 30 ft (singles)
- Rotary RPM: 180 RPM
- Rotary torque: 24,000 ft/lbs
- Max. Tripping size: 7 inch casing
Nordic / Red Adair is developing the next generation snubbing & work over rig purpose designed for the MENA region. The rig will move in 10 loads and rig up in 2 to 3 hours. Pipe handling is done with a new and revolutionary pipe handling system capable of handling 80 to 100 joints per hour thus allowing the rig to trip pipe at up to 3000 ft per hour making this rig the most efficient snubbing & work over rig on the market today.
This rig design allows tubing deployment into wells under pressure and allows the wells to be safely serviced without having to use kill fluids. The process of tubing deployment involves the insertion and removal of pipe into and out of a well with surface pressure. The rig design also incorporates a continuous circulation manifold to insure constant well bore circulations during pipe handling.
