Company Profile

Red Adair is an American Oil Well Firefighter famed for revolutionizing the process in the extremely dangerous profession of extinguishing and capping blazing, erupting oil well blowouts, both land-based and offshore. Oil drilling is one of the biggest most dangerous and profitable industries on the planet. When an oil rig ignites, either due to arson, natural events or accidents, they call a highly specialized team to cap and distinguish the fire.

Considered "the best in the business" Red Adair was known for his extreme innovations in methods of oil well fire fighting and blowouts. Adair gained global attention in 1962, when he tackled a fire at the Gassi Touil gas field in the Sahara desert nicknamed the Devil's Cigarette Lighter, a 450-foot (137 m) pillar of flame that burned from 12:00 PM November 13, 1961 to 9:30 AM on April 28, 1962.

In 2012 Red Adair has joined forces in a Joint Venture with Nordic Gulf to expand Red Adair's services creating the world's largest Independent Well Intervention company in the Eastern Hemisphere. Nordic's skilled staff is specially trained in handling well intervention services to increase the productivity and safety of the drilling process. Red Adair now offers such services as snubbing, tubing-services and the designing and building of well bore tools.
